There have been a lot of changes going on in the world of Social Media and Technology over the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago Facebook rolled out several updates which have left our heads spinning. The new Timeline is a total overhaul to personal profiles and not everybody even has it yet. Many people have complained loudly that it was too much change, they didn’t like it.
This week Apple released the latest iPhone which in the midst of all kinds of wild rumors turned out to be the 4s not the 5. It was not the completely new phone that we expected to see. People complained that it’s not enough change, they want more. Seems like we are kind of hard to please.
And now, we have lost a man that changed all of us. Even if you never owned one of his products, he touched your life. He changed the way we work, communicate, and entertain ourselves. Can you imagine what the world would be like if there had been no Steve Jobs? He wasn’t afraid to fail or worried about what people would think. He did not settle for the status quo. He embraced change, he created change.
Change will always take some adjustment. It can be a challenge, but without change there can be no growth. When things are changing it can be a time for a fresh start or a time of huge opportunity. It may be years before we realize the true benefit, but you have to be willing to move forward, take a chance, and look at things from a different point of view. It may be a little uncomfortable at first, but feeling uncomfortable isn’t necessarily bad. It might just mean you are growing. One of the great things about life is the opportunity you have to grow everyday.
